WHEN I’M GONE

When I’m gone,

I won’t see you cry for me,

I won’t hear you cry for me,

I won’t hug you tightly in my arms,

And tell you it’s ok, I’m back.

When I’m gone,

You won’t see my broken heart through my eyes,

You won’t hear my sad thoughts through my lips,

You won’t hug me tightly in your arms,

And tell me it’s ok, You’re back.

When I’m gone,

They won’t understand your tears,

They won’t understand why you let them roll down your pale cheeks,

They won’t understand what it felt,

When we shared our smiles.

When I’m gone,

The dawn will still break,

The sun will still rise and brighten the day,

The moon will still glow and brighten the night,

And when you look up, your eyes will dry and sparkle with the stars.

LITTLE STEPS BECOME RUNS

Those little glances I stole,

When I blinked to hide my feel,

When the sparkle in your eyes was my gem,

Those little steps I made are now strides.

Those words you spoke with the sweetest voice,

When you said “I’m glad I met you”,

When you said “It’s ok you can walk me along”,

Those little steps are now strides.

Those tender hands I felt,

When you stroked my shaking arm,

When you held me tight in your grip,

Those little steps are now strides.

Those kisses and cuddles,

When you said you never want to see me leave,

When I said I never want to leave,

Those little steps are now strides.

These roses and lilies,

When you are mine forever,

When I’m yours forever,

These little steps are now runs.
